Dr Kurbaan found his passion in cardiology after completing his general medical training. His wide-ranging training has enabled him to develop special interests within the broad field of Cardiology.
He has published comprehensively within the Cardiology Literature throughout his career and has presented his work internationally at Cardiology Conferences.
Dr Kurbaan is actively involved in teaching both at undergraduate and postgraduate level. He has also been involved with the development of novel devices in the cardiovascular field.

Dr Rowland was appointed to the National Heart and Lung Institute and the Royal Brompton National Heart Hospital. He then moved to St George’s Hospital, helping to develop the treatment of heart rhythm problems and becoming Clinical Director of Cardiology.
Dr Rowland was co-chair of the expert panel responsible for National Service Framework document on Cardiac Arrhythmias and Sudden Death.
